Police and the London ambulance service reported Friday that they were responding to an “incident” at the Parsons Green subway station , and several media spoke of an explosion on a train.
” We are aware of an incident at the Parsons Green subway station. Policemen are in place, ” police wrote on the social network Twitter.
The blast occurred on a train at Parsons Green Station, on the District Line, near the Wimbledon neighborhood.
The place panicked. Several passengers have resulted with burns on the face , while the station has been closed and the line suspended.
According to a journalist from the newspaper Metro who was in the place at the time of the events, there are people who were “very burned” and had lost the hair.
” I’m safe and sound – I had to run to save my life at Parson Green Station ,” one user wrote. ” There was a stampede, several injured. I do not know why – they talk about a fire / explosion . “
British emergency services are now coming to the station on one of the main London Underground lines.
At the moment, the nature of the blast , which occurred at rush hour in the District Line in south-west London, is unknown , and police have said it is “aware” of the incident , without giving details.
According to British media reports, the explosion originated in a bucket stored in a supermarket bag.
In photos published by a witness in social networks could be seen the plastic bag burning whose contents could have caused the explosion and a flare .
