Google already has some tools to facilitate the creation of VR and AR content, but the development of 3D models for applications can be difficult and time-consuming.

Google wants to reduce these problems with its latest initiative. Poly is a database of 3D objects and scenes that developers can use in their applications. It has thousands of models, and they are compatible with Google’s design tools. Best of all, it ‘s free.

Poly is intended for use on Google’s VR and AR platforms, but you can use the 3D object for whatever you want. Just look for something and click on the preview on your computer or VR using Cardboard / Daydream.

Poly is integrated with the Tilt Brush and Blocks design tools, so you can upload files. obj and edit the objects you find in Poly. The content is free.

The Poly website is active with the option to download objects and export GIF previews. Later we will see an API for developers to streamline the use of Poly content in applications.
