It will be a “second home” with dimensions similar to that of Seattle. According to the company, 50 thousand jobs will be generated
Amazon plans to build a new headquarters, in which it will invest more than 5,000 million dollars. This was announced by the company in a statement.
The project, named Amazon HQ2, will be the same as the central house in Seattle and 50,000 “well-paid” jobs will be created, it said.
Amazon shared this proposal for representatives of major cities in the United States to make their proposals before October 19, when the call is closed. The site chosen to host the new venue will be announced next year.
“We expect HQ2 to be the same as our Seattle headquarters,” said Amazon president Jeff Bezos in the statement. “We are excited to find a second home.”
The company has in sight an area with more than one million inhabitants. It can be an urban or suburban site with entrepreneurial potential, such as Silicon Valley.
Amazon has more than 380,000 employees worldwide, and between 2010 and 2016 generated 38 billion dollars in the United States market.
“For every dollar invested by Amazon in Seattle, $ 1.4 of additional investment is generated in the city’s economy,” according to the report.
